"We were attracted to Holdfire because it looks so neat and does not use batteries"
"Now the system is installed it is just fantastic; residents can now come and go from their rooms without assistance. The system is completely hidden and I don’t have to worry about doors being wedged or batteries running out"

The Holdfire Door Holder is an invisible hold-open system has been designed to be easily managed by older people and those with disabilities.
This neat, simple device holds the door open against the force of the existing door closer and automatically releases when the fire system is activated.
It is ideal for retrofit where doors are fitted with existing closers and a means to hold them open is required.
The main part of the device is fitted to the underside of the door. A small plate, the size of a large coin is fixed to the floor, on top of the floor covering and close to the door frame.
The door is held open by positioning the door over the plate enabling the device to "grab" and hold. The door easily "wipes" over the plate in either direction allowing wider access if required.
A gentle pull is all that is required to slide the door off the plate and release the door. There is no bending down to press switches or plungers.
When the fire alarms operate, if the door is held in the open position, it will be automatically released to close.
Unlike other magnetic door holding systems, it is not necessary to have an adjacent wall for the door to hold onto. Also as the as the device is fitted into the door and its wiping action over the plate, it is not exposed to damage from wheelchairs, trolleys, etc. or damage from the door being slammed open or shut.
A key feature is that the holding device is positioned close to the door frame end of the door which means that the door is not subjected to the twisting forces caused by most hold open devices which can lead to permanent warping of doors and the need for expensive replacements.
Simple, reliable, affordable.
